Thermometer says it is 35 this morning, so we bundled up and drove to school in high spirits and warm jackets.
Kids didn’t go to sleep until very late last night, then they were impossible to get up; it was rainy, cold, and windy so even a trip for bagels couldn’t raise spirits. A teary drop-off for both of them. Maybe better this afternoon?
I have breast cancer. I am in good hands. There is a long road ahead and it leads to happiness and a cancer-free, long, healthy life.
After learning that two of her friends, who were young enough not to be getting regular mamagrams, had been diagnosed with breast cancer, Xeni Jardin, one of the founding voices of BoingBoing.net and a TV/Radio/Video producer, decided to get one too. She was nervous about it and live-tweeted the experience yesterday.
Later in the day she posted the above.
Update: Xeni has posted a moving piece about the day of her diagnosis on BoingBoing.
